As a Church of England school, Tysoe has close links with St Mary’s Church. The close proximity of the church means we can take part in collective worhip, services, and visits to support our learning at the church.

The children at Tysoe, regularly contribute artwork, prayers and posters for special occasions and services throughout the year including Harvest, Advent, Easter and Candlemas.

The church also arrange events and workshops for children and families throughout the year and are often attended by school staff. These are advertised on posters at school and in the village, on Tysoe Village Noticeboard Facebook page, and via the school news app.

The school regularly contributes to fundraising and charity projects alongside St Mary’s Church. Most recently, the children and families collected donations toward a reverse Advent calendar in conjunction with the church. Together we were able to make a very welcome and generous contribution to Shipston Foodbank.

Donations to the Shipston Foodbank are welcomed year round and can be delivered to the collection box in St Mary’s Church or in the school office. The Shipston Foodbank runs every Saturday morning from 10:30am to 12 noon at St Edmund’s Church, Shipston.

We regularly welcome clergy and others in the church community to school to lead Collective Worship and are pleased to be able to contribute, not only to the school services, but other services throughout the church year including the Crib Service on Christmas Eve and the Candlemas service. The children look forward to exploring the Stations of the Cross art trail through the churchyard each year.
