The School Day
Below are the times of the usual school day. We greatly appreciate parental support in ensuring attendance remains high at our school.
Leave of Absence including holiday and extended leave cannot be granted unless there are exceptional circumstances. Please contact the school office for further information or to request a leave of absence form.
Times
Gates open at 8.45am and are closed at 8.55am. Registers are taken at 9am and 1:20pm. Children finish at 3.25pm.
This meets the DfE requirement of 32.5 hours per week.
We have daily Collective Worship.
Absence from school
Parents are requested to inform the school of the reason for a child’s absence as soon as possible by telephone. If no message regarding the reason for absence has been received, then the office staff will try to make contact with the parents to find out the reason for the absence as close to the close of registers as possible.
Please telephone the office and select option 1. You can leave a short message regarding your child’s absence.
Punctuality
Gates open at 8.45am and close at 8.55am. Children arriving after the school gates have closed should enter school via main reception. They should report to the office with a parent or carer and complete the late book, adding a reason for lateness.
Any child arriving more than 30 minutes after the start of the session (9.30am) will be marked as an unauthorised absence (U). Where a child is persistently late the Headteacher will ask to meet with parents or carers. Times of arrival will be recorded as this information, along with registers, are legal documents and may be used by the local authority, as with absences, in prosecution purposes.
