Tysoe C of E Primary School is proud to have introduced a new Specialist Resourced Provision (SRP) called The Grove, designed in line with Warwickshire County Council’s approach to their SEND Local Offer. Our SRP supports children with communication and interaction needs, including autism spectrum condition and speech, language and communication needs, as outlined in the SEND Local Offer.

The provision will offer up to 10 places for children from Year 1 to Year 6, introduced through a staggered entry to ensure that each child’s transition is carefully planned and rooted in their individual strengths, needs and readiness. Pupils placed in the SRP will have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and placements will be agreed through Warwickshire County Council’s High Needs Provision Panel.

Ms Amy Venner is the Lead Teacher in The Grove and joins Tysoe with many years of experience in special needs education. The children are supported by Miss Holli Thomas, who also brings many years of experience working with children with special needs.

The Grove is fully integrated into the life of the school and children within the provision will benefit from both the nurturing environment of The Grove with specialist staff, smaller group learning, and tailored resources as well as access to interactions and learning within our inclusive mainstream classrooms where appropriate. This integrated approach is recognised as central to effective SRP practice.

A key aim of our SRP is to support children in engaging successfully with mainstream learning, through increasing periods of time spent between The Grove and the appropriate mainstream classroom.  Any integration is handled gradually, sensitively and at a pace that suits each individual. Warwickshire guidance highlights that time spent in mainstream classes will vary depending on each child’s needs, ranging from short, supported sessions to extended curriculum involvement. We follow this principle closely, helping pupils build confidence, independence and a sense of belonging.

Our approach draws on making learning accessible and ensuring children feel understood, valued and well-supported. We aim to create an inclusive, welcoming community where every child thrives—socially, emotionally and academically.

Parents and carers considering a place at The Grove can expect a warm partnership with the school. We work closely with families at every stage, recognising the vital role they play in their child’s success.

We take the safety and welfare of all our school communities very seriously.

The Fosse Multi Academy Trust and all of its schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
